Meet our members: Earl Mortimer College
Earl Mortimer College is Leominster’s secondary school and Sixth Form Centre, serving young people in our community. We believe that all our students can succeed and are passionate about improving student performance by challenging, encouraging and motivating students to aim for high expectations with a ‘can do attitude’ and we are very proud to be among the founding members of Leominster Cultural Consortium.
Our vision is to develop ambitious and resilient students, respectful of each other and their community. We encourage our students to take more responsibility for their learning and help them to develop into independent learners and prepare them for adult life.
At Earl Mortimer College we encourage students to follow our principles of Engagement, Mindset and Challenge.
Engagement: Our vision is to forge strong, positive connections with students so that they can achieve independence, build confidence and gain knowledge through active participation in their learning.
Mindset: We provide a safe and supportive setting so that students have the opportunity to explore and to clarify their own beliefs and values. Our vision is for students to have a positive mindset, to develop confidence in their abilities and in the contribution they can make to the school and wider communities.
Challenge: We are dedicated to supporting our students in achieving excellence. We have high expectations of their learning and achievement, also taking care to recognise personal achievements and to promote a sense of pride in ourselves, in our school and in our community. We strive for students to experience success today and to be prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
We work in partnership with families and the community, working to promote lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Our school creates a pathway to support students in achieving educational and person goals, leading to a fulfilling future in the wider community.
